The visit resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covering collaboration in research, education, and cultural experiences, and marks an important milestone in the international relationship between Unram and CQUniversity.
Together with the Head of Unram’s Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM), Prof. Dr. Ir. Strategic Collaboration for Agricultural Research and Education
The MoU signed directly by the Rector of Unram and Vice-Chancellor and President of CQUniversity, Prof. Nick Klomp covers a variety of cooperation focuses, especially in the fields of agriculture and engineering. This cooperation aims to improve the quality of applied research and innovation in the agricultural sector, and provide direct benefits to the global community.
Prof. Nick Klomp expressed his pride in this collaboration, describing Unram as an extraordinary institutional partner. “Both CQUniversity and Unram share a common focus on applied research and innovation, as well as a commitment to community service and social responsibility,” Prof. Klomp said.
According to Prof. Klomp, both universities have a special interest in agriculture, especially in livestock production and nutrition. This collaboration is expected to result in collaborative research that has major impacts on the agriculture industry and global society.
Expanding Opportunities for Students in Cultural Exchange
The MoU also covers various programs including student exchanges, where in February 2025, CQUniversity will send 10 undergraduate students to visit Unram with the aim of providing educational experiences as well as extraordinary cultural interactions.
“This will be the first time our students visit Indonesia. In addition to providing valuable education, this visit will also enrich their cultural experience,” said Associate Professor Karen Harper from CQUniversity.
A Sustainable Collaborative Relationship
The Head of Unram’s Office of International Affairs, Prof. Dahlanuddin, who has a background as a researcher in ruminant nutrition, has established close cooperation with Prof. Simon Quigley and Associate Professor Karen Harper from CQUniversity. To date, they have collaborated on seven research projects and produced 14 scientific publications.
“This collaboration is expected to provide greater access to international projects, increase the number of publications, and expand student learning through international tours,” said Harper.
Through this strategic collaboration, both Unram and CQUniversity hope to create new innovations that benefit the world of education, research, and the wider community.
