Unram Strengthens International Collaboration through a Visit to Curtin University
Mataram, University of Mataram – On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, a delegation from the University of Mataram (Unram) led by Rector Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., made an official visit to Curtin University (CU), Perth, Australia. This visit aims to initiate, strengthen, and implement international cooperation, especially with universities in Western Australia.
The Unram delegation was received directly by Prof. Xiaotian Zhang, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Global CU, along with faculty leaders in the Rector’s Meeting Room, CU. In his speech, Prof. Bambang conveyed Unram’s commitment to increase global networking and responded to the enthusiasm shown by CU. This activity was facilitated by Monica Wong through intense communication with Dr. Deasy Irawati, M.Sc., Ph.D, a CU alumni who now serves as Vice Dean 2 of Unram’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The cooperation visit to CU discussed deeper cooperation opportunities in several areas, such as the Faculty of Science (Dr. Enoch Perimal and Dr. Katya Clark), the Faculty of Business and Law (Prof. Rob Evans, Prof. Hadrian, Dr. Imran, and Ms. Michelle), and the Marketing Strategy team led by Dr. Marco Schultheis. The presentation covered strategies towards a World Class University as well as collaboration opportunities such as inbound-outbound short course programs, student and lecturer exchanges, public lectures, visiting professors, and joint research grants.
As a first step, the student mobility program will focus on the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Business, and the Unram Language Center. CU also expressed its commitment to support the preparation of short courses according to Unram’s needs.
This visit created a strong base for continued collaboration between Unram and CU, in order to realize a shared vision in global education.
