Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) and Dr. Soetomo University Surabaya held an audience to follow up on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that had been signed previously. This meeting took place in the Rector’s Conference Room, Unram Rectorate on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. The main focus of this audience is the support of human resources (HR) lecturers of the Faculty of Law, Social and Political Sciences of Unram in supporting the establishment of a Doctoral Study Program in Law at the Faculty of Law, Dr. Soetomo University Surabaya.

The Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D. conveyed the importance of realizing the cooperation that had been agreed on July 5, 2024. “The MoU that we have signed must be followed up. One of them is to support the opening of the Doctoral Program in Law at the University of Dr. Soetomo Surabaya. We are certainly ready to be partners because in the end we will jointly educate the nation’s life,” said Prof. Bambang.

He also emphasized that cooperation between the two universities is not only limited to the exchange of teaching staff, but also includes various potential collaborations such as joint research and student exchanges. “This research can be conducted in various faculties in Unram. We are open to all potential collaborations that can benefit the community,” he added.

The Rector of Dr. Soetomo University Surabaya, Prof. Dr. Siti Marwiyah, S.H., M.H., expressed her gratitude for the welcome and support given by Unram. “We are honored by the warm welcome given by Unram. The welcome from the Rector of Unram to us is extraordinary. Thank you Mr. Rector for the welcome and assistance,” said Prof. Siti Marwiyah.

She also emphasized that the establishment of the Doctoral Program in Law at Dr. Soetomo University would be a new milestone involving a major contribution from Unram. “We ask for prayers and support. This will be a history that the establishment of the Doctoral Program at the University of Dr. Soetomo Surabaya involves a big role from Unram in it,” she concluded.

The audience discussed Prof. Dr. H. M. Galang Asmara, SH., M.Hum. a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Social and Political Sciences of Unram who will contribute to the Doctoral Program in Law at the University of Dr. Soetomo Surabaya.

This audience reflects the commitment of the two institutions in establishing mutually supportive cooperation to improve the quality of higher education in Indonesia. This cooperation is expected to have a positive impact on society, especially in the development of knowledge and human resources.
