Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) enthusiastically welcomed the arrival of Madrasah Aliyah At-Tahzib on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at the Senate Conference Room, Unram Rectorate. The students were accompanied by the Principal, Vice Principal, and accompanying teachers. This activity aims to provide insight to 12th grade students about various new student admission pathways at Unram and introduce academic life in universities.

On this occasion, the students were first introduced to Unram through the campus profile video. Furthermore, the socialization session was delivered by the Head of Academic and Student Affairs Bureau, Dwi Suswanto, S.Kom., M.M., who explained the various admission pathways to Unram, including the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP), National Selection Based on Test (SNBT), as well as the Mandiri pathway.

More than just introducing selection pathways, students also get an in-depth understanding of the faculties and study programs available at Unram, campus facilities, and various Student Activity Units (UKM) that can be a forum for self-development. In addition, they were also given information about various types of scholarships, such as the Indonesia Smart College Card (KIP-K) and other scholarships, which can help reduce the tuition fees for qualified students.

In the presentation session, Dwi Suswanto emphasized the importance of having a clear mindset and a solid concept of academic journey. He reminded that from an early age, every student must have a target and a purposeful life plan.

“Students must have a mindset and concept of life journey, especially in academics. There must be a clear target, for example, after graduating from high school you want to enroll in a certain study program, and after graduating from college what you want to become. This will be a guide in the academic journey and also a source of enthusiasm when facing challenges. If one day we feel demotivated, we can go back to remembering our original goal,” he explained.

In addition, he also reminded that the university life is totally different from the school life. Therefore, students not only need to be active in academic activities, but also in non-academic activities such as joining UKM and student organizations. This organizational experience will be beneficial in improving skills and enriching personal values in the future.

For prospective students who do not qualify through the SNBP or SNBT pathway, he emphasized that there are still opportunities through the SBMPTN or Mandiri selection pathway. Unram also offers various educational assistance schemes for students in need.

Not only that, students are also introduced to the Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) program, which allows students to study outside their study program. This program provides flexibility for students to develop skills in various fields relevant to their future careers.

In conclusion, this activity ended with a group photo session as a memento. The students seemed enthusiastic and full of spirit after participating in this series of events. This visit not only provided new information, but also motivated them to plan their academic future more carefully and try harder to achieve their dream of studying at Unram.
