Unram’s 62nd Dies Natalis Enhances the Spirit of Brotherhood and Sportsmanship Through Badminton Championship
Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) officially opened the Badminton Championship in celebration of the 62nd Dies Natalis with the theme “Through Badminton, We Increase the Sense of Brotherhood and Sportsmanship”. The opening ceremony which took place on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the Unram Badminton Field was attended by various parties including students, lecturers, and Unram education staff. The Badminton Championship is scheduled to last for five days, from October 23 to 27, 2024.
The Vice Rector for Finance and General Affairs of Unram, Prof. Dr. Sukardi, M.Pd. in his speech expressed the hope that this championship would not only be a competition event, but also a place to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among the Unram academic community.
“Through this badminton competition, we want to encourage the spirit of sportsmanship and togetherness. Victory is not the only goal, but the sense of mutual respect and togetherness created through every match is the most important,” he said.
Agustono Setiawan, S.T., M.Sc. as the Head of the Committee of the 62nd Unram Dies Natalis stated that this event is expected to be able to increase the enthusiasm of the entire Unram academic community for sports and become a place to foster a sense of unity and awareness of the importance of healthy lifestyles.
With the spirit of “Through Badminton, We Increase the Sense of Brotherhood and Sportsmanship” Unram hopes that this championship can be an example of positive activities in order to maintain solidarity, the spirit of competition and build a healthy lifestyle in the campus environment.
